From time to time, I may think of some business idea that I have no intention of pusuing. These ideas may be useless, but if I’m not going to do anything with them then I’ll spit ‘em out for your consideration.

Fish Care

Fish keeping is becoming increasingly popular. The people that buy the expensive coi carp and so forth are frequently wealthy and often very busy people. Would there be a market for a guy in a small van to take care of these fish? I don’t mean feeding - owners can do that. I mean checking the salinity, acidity, and ammonia levels of the water, changing the water as required, cleaning and replacing filters, removing any fungus, trimming back water weeds, etc. My guess is that there’s people that would pay for that service, just like they pay for their lawns to be taken care of.

Cleaning in VN

I’ve noticed that the cleaning business is growing in VietNam. It wouldn’t be hard for a foreigner to get in on the action now. Overheads are low. Because the business activity is conducted at the customer site, there is no need to rent a large and impressive office. Wages are low too. My main concerns, however, would be how to deal with the following two scenarios :

• theft of customer property/money by an employee
• fraudulent claims of theft from the customer
